Architecture and Design Studies
I studied Architecture and Design at Shenkar for three intensive years, with the last year and a half dedicated to my final project. The program combined planning courses, hands-on fieldwork that simulated real world practice, and national certification exams. It required both creativity and persistence to handle complex tasks and deliver results under pressure.
Final Project
The assignment was to design a public library in Neve Sha’anan, a socially and economically challenged neighborhood in South Tel Aviv. From the start, I realized the importance of understanding the residents’ needs and began with in-depth research into the community and the area.
The initial concept came from a simple stack of books, which evolved into a structured program:
three main volumes shaped like books, surrounding a central courtyard designed as a public space for social and community gatherings. I used colors to both symbolize the content of the books and to bring vibrancy into the neighborhood, making the building a local landmark.
The façade was designed with louvers that mimic the pages of a book, reinforcing the library’s identity.
Throughout the process, I conducted site visits, coordinated with engineers, and worked meticulously on design details down to execution level.
